AIMS & SCOPE
Environmental Contaminants Reviews (ECR) is dedicated to advancing knowledge on the sources, transport, fate, and impacts of contaminants in the environment. The journal aims to serve as a platform for comprehensive, critical reviews that synthesize current understanding and identify gaps in environmental science research. By doing so, it provides valuable insights into contaminant pathways, their behavior across environmental compartments, and the potential risks they pose to ecosystems, wildlife, and human health.
ECR welcomes multidisciplinary contributions that integrate perspectives from analytical chemistry, biochemistry, biology, ecology, molecular and cellular biology, and toxicology. The journal particularly values reviews that connect laboratory findings with real-world environmental contexts, enhancing understanding of contaminant dynamics and their broader consequences.
The scope of the journal covers a wide range of topics, including but not limited to:
- Sources, transport, transformation, and persistence of contaminants in air, water, soil, and biota.
- Human, wildlife, and environmental toxicology of contaminants.
- Analytical advances for detecting and characterizing contaminants.
- Occupational exposure and health effects.
- Wastewater treatment, effluent monitoring, and assessment of contaminant removal technologies.
- Site contamination, risk assessment, and remediation strategies.
All submissions undergo rigorous peer review by experts, with reviewers evaluating the breadth of coverage, critical analysis, originality, and the review’s contribution to the wider scientific community.
